Robert Trevino, guest conductor
Simone Lamsma, violinist

This season will feature the last numbered Symphonies of some of the most remarkable and connected composers of the classical and romantic age. The season also features works which were inspired by other composers.

The old saying "all roads lead to Rome" could be used when saying "all roads lead to Mozart.”  Mozart, the great titan of classical music, closes Concert I.  His Jupiter Symphony is often regarded as the apex of the Classical Symphony, a true masterpiece of power, lyricism, and classical structure.

We pair Mozart with the Beethoven Violin Concerto and returning violinist Simone Lamsma; structured, clear, and adheres in many way to the classical aesthetic. It is not an overtly romantic work but represents in many ways the natural progression of what perhaps Mozart's own music would have evolved into. This work uses the fullest measure of technical performance from a violinist, and we've brought one of the best in the world to showcase this style.

Please Note:  soloists and performers for all Festival Series performances are subject to change.
