Robert Trevino, guest conductor
Jean-Yves Thibaudet, Pianist
Concert II features Dvorak's last symphony written in large part in the U.S.A. Dvorak was a composer who held Brahms in the highest regard, and in fact, owed much of his own fame to the well-known composer, whom we will feature in Concert III. We have invited back Jean-Yves Thibaudet to perform the dazzling Liszt 2nd Piano Concerto, and like the Ravel Tzigane, this work requires the maximum technical virtuosity of the pianist; and we have engaged perhaps the fastest fingers in the world to perform this exciting concerto.
