Celebrate Pride & Creative Writing by recognizing our faculty allies and LGBTQ+ faculty as they read from new works of poetry and fiction.

Dr. Nicole Santalucia's book of poetry, Spoiled Meat, is dedicated to the LGBTQ+ community in central PA and is the winner of the Charlotte Mew Poetry Prize. Her work "is a tour-de-force of political dissent and lyrical engagement with the core questions of who, as citicenz and as a nation, we are and who we want to be."

Neil Connelly's 8th book, Brawler, is a young adult novel set in Harrisburg that explores, among other things, the cyclical nature of violence.  Kirkus Review hails it as “a story of self-discovery and redemption” and author Francisco Stork praises it for having “a huge heart.”

We strive to create a safe space for LGBTQ+ students and community members here at Shippensburg University through advocacy and program development.

Free and open to the public
